Welcome


The CHS Community Wellbeing and Support Clinic provide short-term counseling and case management services to ODU students at no extra cost. Services are provided by master's level counselors or undergraduate human services trainees in the advanced training phase of their programs of study. All counselor and human services trainees are supervised by doctoral site supervisors, who are supervised by a licensed clinical director.











Counseling services will be offered face-to-face or online. Telemental counseling services are made available via HIPAA-compliant online platforms including Supervision Assist and Secure Zoom.

Hours of Operation

Currently closed and will reopen in Fall 2023.

Services will expand into 2023

Services are not available during scheduled university breaks including national holidays, winter break, fall break, spring and summer break. The Clinic may operate on limited hours during the weeks of required Clinic faculty, student, and staff attendance to national conferences or professional training occurring during any semester.

After Hours & Emergencies

Students in crisis during after-hours or on the weekend can contact Protocol via the Office of Counseling Services at 757-683-4401, then press "Option 2," or call ODU Police at 757-683-4000. In the event of an emergency, students should dial 911.

Fees

Counseling services are made available to ODU students at no extra cost.

Cancellation Policy

Clients must call at least 24 hours in advance of their scheduled appointment to cancel or reschedule. Due to the large volume of ODU students seeking counseling services, clients who "no show" and "late cancel" an appointment twice in a row, will be terminated from counseling services at that time and placed back on the coordination of care list.


Scheduling Appointments


  1. Appointments can be made via email, in person, over the phone, or through the website.

  2. Upon scheduling your initial appointment, you will receive a confirmation email including instructions for the day of your appointment.

  3. Walk-ins are welcome; however, students who walk-in cannot be guaranteed that they will be seen on the same day. Appointments are recommended to ensure the availability of a counselor.
